Splitty compared with Splid

Splid column checked 20 October 2026. Splid is a trademark of its owner. The Impressum on its website names Nicolas Jersch, München. Splid is not affiliated with Splitty. The Splid column describes only what its own public pages and store listings stated on that date.

Splid is a free app for splitting group costs that needs no sign-up and works offline, with sync turned on only when the group wants it. Splitty was built for a different group: people who do not share one language, who pool money into a kitty before they spend it, and who want the trip itself, the flights, the stays and the receipts, in the same place as the balances.

FeatureSplittySplid
Languages 52, including Arabic, Farsi, Urdu and Hebrew with full right-to-left layout. Each member of a trip can read it in a different language. The US App Store listing names 5 languages: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. No right-to-left language is on the list (no Arabic, Farsi, Urdu or Hebrew). The website is in German and English.
Shared kitty First-class: contributions into a pool and expenses out of it are tracked separately, so a pooled fund and a spend-as-you-go trip both work. Not identified in the official materials checked on 20 October 2026. The store listings describe several payers on one bill (for example, one person paid and another contributed $10), not a pooled fund.
Multi-currency Any currency per expense, with the rate stored on the trip so later edits do not rewrite history. A free trip uses up to 2 currencies, the base included. Pro removes that limit. Yes. The website and store listings say you can choose from more than 150 currencies and Splid converts the amount automatically. Expenses can be in one currency and settled in another.
Receipts Photograph a receipt onto any expense. Receipt photos or scanning were not identified in the official materials checked on 20 October 2026.
Trip itinerary Flights, stays and a day-by-day plan live alongside the money. Not identified in the official materials checked on 20 October 2026.
Apple Wallet pass A trip pass that updates on the lock screen as the balance moves. Not identified in the official materials checked on 20 October 2026.
Export CSV of every transaction, and a PDF trip report. Summaries download as PDF or Excel files. The store listings say Excel export is an in-app purchase.
Joining An invite link opens in any browser and a guest can join without an account. No sign-up required (website and store listings). Groups are shared online to enter bills together. How a person joins a shared group (link or code) was not identified in the official materials checked on 20 October 2026.
Install and offline Free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad and on Google Play for Android. The installable web app also works on Android and desktop and opens offline. iOS (iPhone and iPad, iOS 16.0 or later) and Android (Google Play). The website and listings say it works on and offline, with offline groups and optional sync. A web version was not identified in the official materials checked on 20 October 2026.
Price Free tier with up to 12 active members and 2 currencies per group. Splitty Pro is OMR 1.500 a month or OMR 12.000 a year. The website says "Splid is free!". The US App Store lists two in-app purchases: Splid Plus $3.99 and 2 Groups $2.99. Google Play shows "In-app purchases" and no "Contains ads" label. What Splid Plus includes, apart from Excel export, was not identified in the official materials checked on 20 October 2026.
Everyday groups Circles: repeat groups for lunches, nights out and shared homes, with no trip dates. The official materials describe costs on holidays, in shared homes and between couples.

When Splid is the better answer

If nobody in the group wants to sign up, Splid needs no sign-up for anyone, even when a group is shared online. A group can live on one phone with no sync at all, then sync when the group wants it. Splid has more than 150 currencies with automatic conversion, and the group can settle in a different currency from the one it spent. It handles several payers on one bill and unequal splits. PDF summaries come with the free app, and Splid Plus is listed at $3.99 on the US App Store.

When Splitty is the better answer

If some of the group reads Arabic, Farsi, Urdu or Hebrew, Splitty has those languages with right-to-left layout, and each member can read the same trip in a different language. If money goes into a pool first, a trip fund, a household kitty or a family contribution, Splitty records contributions and spending as separate things. If the trip has flights, stays and a day plan, they sit on the same trip as the money, with a Wallet pass on the lock screen. Splitty takes a receipt photo on any expense, and it also runs as an installable web app in any browser. And for the same people again and again, a circle keeps a running balance for lunches, nights out and a shared home, with no trip dates.

What Splitty does not do

Splitty does not move money. It records who paid, who owes and who has settled. The payment itself happens wherever the group already banks. Splitty is not a payment provider and holds no funds.
